"On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate this class a 10. The course, the fellow students, the insights, the structure, the ease of use of your Web site, and most particularly your instructor made the class one of the most wonderful, valuable, and interesting learning experiences of my life."

ANOTHER STUDENT SUCCESS

Dear Gotham,

I have great news to share! My first book, A Quick Guide to Improving Note-Taking and Idea-Making in Content-Area Writing is due out early next year.

My dream to write this book became a reality when I enrolled in Stephanie Staal’s Nonfiction Book Proposal course. Her guidance was invaluable because she was able to help me find my voice and bring it out in my writing. She provided me with sample proposals, which I used as a mentor to write my own.

Ann-E Wood read my book when I was ready to revise it. She gave me feedback, which helped me to make my manuscript as strong as possible.

I am pleased with my experience at Gotham and I plan to continue to take courses.

Thanks for the motivation,

Brooke Geller

CREATIVE NEW OPTION FOR TEENS Teen Ink, a national literary magazine, has partnered with Gotham to present six-week online creative writing courses created exclusively for teens, 13 to 19 years old. These classes are all about helping younger writers discover and develop their unique voices. There are no grades, no exams, and no wrong answers.

Students will explore a variety of fiction's forms, including memoir, personal essay, and article writing. Every week, they will engage in conversations about writing craft, partake in writing jam sessions, and have the chance to get feedback on their work. Plus, students will have the opportunity to submit work for review by a Teen Ink editor for possible publication in the national magazine and web site. All students will also receive a one-year subscription to Teen Ink magazine.

For information and registration visit TeenInk.com.
